As of June 30, 2017, Carl Walker joined forces with design, planning, and surveying firm WGI, adding its award-winning parking and structural engineering suite of services to create a 12th business division for WGI, integrating Carl Walker into WGI’s dominant presence throughout Florida. Now a wholly owned subsidiary, the unified national firm has 13 offices in six states, serving an active client base in over 30 states.
Gary Cudney, PE, president and CEO, and all key Carl Walker principals, executives, and associates will continue in their current roles, ensuring a smooth transition for both its clients and staff.
“WGI’s client-centered approach, strong work ethic, values, and expertise in transportation and planning, along with the compelling opportunity for growth, were significant factors for the move to WGI,” said Carl Walker’s Gary Cudney. “Joining WGI expands our professional services, footprint, and ability to develop sustainable, engaging, and adaptable parking solutions for clients nationwide.” The highly recognized Carl Walker name will continue and be integrated with WGI, operating as “Carl Walker, a division of WGI.”
Combined, the national firm has nearly 400 associates, and its additional divisions beyond Carl Walker’s Parking Solutions include Land Development/Municipal Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Surveying and Mapping, Subsurface Utility Engineering, Structures, Water Resources, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Sciences, Architecture, Land Planning, and Creative Services.
H. Carl Walker founded the company to work primarily as a consultant in parking, structural and forensic engineering. The firm grew, adding expanded services throughout the years, and the company name was changed to Carl Walker, Inc. in 1993 to reflect its extensive parking consulting work beyond just being “engineers.”
Our company was founded in 1983 by H. Carl Walker from the partnership of Walker & Cagley. At the time, Mr. Walker had accumulated over 18 years of specialty parking-related experience.
