Increased demand for parking necessitated the construction of the first parking garage on the Purdue University Calumet campus. The garage provides 874 spaces of additional parking for students, faculty, staff and visitors, with an attractive architectural appearance that blends in with the campus setting. An at-grade pedestrian walkway connects the garage to Porter Hall. This connection provides a continuation of the internal pedestrian circulation within the campus.
Since safety and lighting are critical elements in a parking facility, this garage includes glass-backed elevator and stair tower cores for visibility, emergency phones, a screened perimeter at the lower level, lighting that exceeds industry standards and stained soffits on all supported floors to improve light reflectance in the garage.
