This community college is recognized in the top five of the nation's two-year colleges for teaching excellence. The Independence Parking Deck for the main campus is designed as a 688-space parking system allocated for use by CPCC students, staff, visitors, and the general public. It is the first design-build project for the State of North Carolina. This mixed-use parking structure will also house future office space and a printing service center. Architecturally, the edifice is modeled after the neighboring campus bookstore, blending in with the eclectic aesthetics in the area.
