Lutheran Hospital of Indiana is a fast-growing medical campus located in Fort Wayne. As the campus continues to grow, so does the need for parking. To address the need for additional spaces and create more convenient access to the hospital's facilities, two parking garages were proposed to take the place of surface lots at the north and south end of the campus.
The North Parking Structure is a 472 space facility that provides patient/visitor parking, as well as private parking for the hospital's physicians. The exterior is clad in hand-laid brick to match the main buildings on the campus. A limestone look was incorporated with the use of precast lintels and caps. The lower-level physician parking is given some privacy with the use of architectural screening between the first and second levels. The garage was built in approximately 10 months and was officially opened in July 2006.
