The parking structure is an architectural focal point for the north entrance to the expanded Medical Center campus of the University of Michigan. With a total of 970 parking spaces, the six-level structure provides segregated parking areas for patients/visitors and staff/physicians. It is also designed for a future four-level vertical expansion to meet the future parking needs of the Medical Center.
The exterior of the garage is designed with precast façade panels and bands of field-laid brick to blend in with campus architecture; in addition, the east elevation of the garage is set back every two levels to minimize massing. An elevated pedestrian skywalk provides direct access from the garage to the Cancer & Geriatrics Center.
