The 991-space parking facility provides parking for staff, doctors and visitors to Community Hospital North and to the adjacent Indiana Heart Hospital. The curved shape compliments the new patient bed tower and attached medical office building. Additionally, since the frontage of this parking facility is highly visible to a major interstate highway, it acts as a new “front door” to the Community Hospital North campus.
A stainless steel architectural mesh was utilized to create a unique and aesthetically attractive exterior look to the parking structure. Since the open area of the mesh met requirements to classify the garage as “open,” it allowed the use of a less costly fire suppression system than one that would be required for an enclosed garage.
