Sears-Clayton Lane Parking Facility

Denver, Colorado

This six-level, two-bay wide facility provides 448 parking spaces that serve the adjacent Sears store in the upscale Cherry Creek North district in Denver. Street-level retail buffers the parking from the street, and extends the pedestrian scale and character of the neighborhood. The upper levels step back to minimize the scale of the building and to maximize sunlight exposure at street level. Brick, native stone, several types of glass and open metal grilles are dynamically composed on the exterior facades, reflecting the progressive nature of Cherry Creek and suggesting a direction for future development. The project received the Colorado Construction 2003 "Gold Hard Hat" Award for Outstanding Private Project.
