Parking and Transit Master Plan

Arizona State University's main campus had a parking inventory of 18,900 spaces serving 44,000 students. Planned campus development projects would potentially reduce the parking supply, through the loss of surface parking lots, by as many as 4,700 spaces over the ten-year planning horizon.

Scope of Services

  • Conduct a peak-day survey of parking utilization and parking characteristics.
  • Conduct a parking efficiency audit of existing facilities to identify the potential for improved facility utilization.
  • Identify current and future parking generators in the study area, and identify parking losses due to planned developments.
  • Determine future parking surpluses and deficits within the study area.
  • Identify and quantify all shared parking opportunities.
  • Assess the impacts of transit and other forms of TDM on the parking system.
