Parking Demand and Services Assessment

The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) engaged Carl Walker, Inc., to conduct a study of market conditions at and around Nashville International Airport as they relate to parking. The purpose of the study is to assess the airport's parking needs- including employee and public parking facilities at five and ten year intervals. The assessment will consider capacity, efficiency, revenue maximization, fee structure, and customer service goals.

In estimating future parking revenues, Carl Walker will include an evaluation of the sensitivity of the airport travelers to changes in public parking rates that may result in shifts in volume between the airport's parking facilities or the potential loss of business to off-airport competitors in response to higher rates.

The study involved on-site examination of the airport and its parking facilities, interviews with MNAA and Central Parking System staff, field observations, and development of a sensitivity model used in analysis of probable outcomes for prospective rate changes.
