Carl Walker, Inc. was selected by the University of Texas at El Paso to conduct a high-level review and analysis of parking management and user allocation alternatives. As parking demands have increased over time, the need has arisen to reallocate portions of the campus parking supply in order to create a more efficient system. The primary goal of this project is to identify parking management and allocation options designed to improve traffic conditions, reduce user frustration, and ensure the effective use of available parking supplies. This study will coincide with the opening of a new parking structure on campus.
The scope of services for this parking study includes assistance in developing a set of parking system guiding principles, assistance in conducting necessary public input sessions/workshops, an analysis of options for changing campus parking allocations, and an action plan for implementing recommended allocation/management changes.
