The overall goal of this project was to assist the City of Long Beach with recommendations on their parking organization and management structure with respect to both Downtown Long Beach and Citywide. The study produced a "blueprint" for parking reorganization and management.
Carl Walker is proud to have teamed with the International Downtown Association on this project. Together CWI and the IDA provided a strategic framework for the Parking Department through the development of parking system "Guiding Principles."
These Guiding Principles addressed all the functional areas of the parking department and lead to an in-depth evaluation of parking operations and management processes. The ultimate goal of the study was to provide the vision, organizational structure, staffing plan and other practical recommendations to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and accountability of parking management for the City of Long Beach.
Carl Walker has been re-engaged by the City to provide on-going assistance with the implementation of the parking reorganization and management plan.
