Comprehensive Parking Study
Carl Walker, Inc. has been retained by the Memphis and Shelby County Downtown Parking Authority to conduct a parking study for the Memphis Medical Center in downtown Memphis, TN. The Memphis Medical District Master Plan Update recommended conducting a parking study to identify locations for the development of shared parking facilities within the Medical Center. The major institutions located within the 100-block study area include the following:
- University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center
- The Regional Medical Center of Memphis
- The Veteran's Affairs Medical Center
- Methodist University Hospital
- Baptist College of Health Sciences
- Southern College of Optometry
- Memphis Bioworks Foundation
- UT-Baptist Research Park
- Memphis Mental Health Institute
- Southwest Tennessee Community College
The parking study will establish existing parking conditions, project future parking requirements, and recommend an overall parking program for the Medical Center. Included in the parking plan will be concept plans and a financial analysis for the recommended parking improvements.
